Today’s Encouragement is, “For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NLT
Transferred –
What wonderful truth:
We have already been rescued. We’ve been transferred from the darkness into the Kingdom of Jesus. He has purchased our freedom with His very life, and
all our sins, past, present, and future are forgiven.
All this is already done. We didn’t do it; God did. And Jesus announced it. “It is finished” John 19:30.
This is the sovereign grace of God. His decision, His act. He has transferred us, perfectly and completely removed us from the kingdom of darkness. Let that sink in.
We don’t live there anymore. We once did! We can remember what it was like, might even sometimes want to go back there for a visit, but we are no longer held captive in that prison. God has rescued and transferred us!
And now, we live in the freedom of the Kingdom of Christ Jesus, in His light. In this kingdom, there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1); we are truly free (John 8:36).
We have been transferred from our old life of darkness into a new kingdom of light and a new life of freedom, and Jesus has done this.
Thank You, Father, for this transfer. We don’t deserve it, cannot earn it, and wouldn’t even dare to dream of such an unimaginable exchange. Help us know this truth and see it spiritually by trusting Your word, even though our human sight cannot perceive it.
Divine Exchange
