Never Again Remember

Today’s Encouragement is, “And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.” Hebrews 8:12 NLT

Never Again Remember –

Truths That Transform: God forgives, and He forgets.

We remember. We keep an extensive “record of wrongs” (1 Corinthians 13:4) that have been done to us and of the wrongs we have done to ourselves and others; we remember our sins.

But God does not. It’s hard for us to imagine, but this is biblical truth. God keeps no record of our wrongs. We come to Him in confession and say, “God, we’re so sorry we’ve done it again.” We lost our temper, we had that thought, we wasted an opportunity, and He responds, in loving compassion, “I’m sorry; I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

His love for us is so great that He chooses not to remember our sins; He doesn’t “count them against us” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

He chooses, by His will, by His amazing immeasurable love, to no longer remember our sins because the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ was made to cleanse us from all our sins – past, present, and future.

So if we’re forgiven and even cleansed from all our sins, and God does not keep a record of our sins, why in the world would we?

We can let go of our sin, our past, our failures, and our weaknesses, and enjoy the freedom of grace, mercy, love, and the perfect righteousness of God our Father through Christ in our lives. This is freedom.

Father, help us to live in the perfect freedom that You have already made available to us. Help us to forgive and forget, to never again remember our sins, our own sins against others and against ourselves, and the sins of others against us.

Remember, God Forgets
Mercy’s Won
