Letting the Spirit –
Truths That Transform: God’s Spirit will lead you to life and peace when you allow Him to control your mind.
The comparison is painfully clear. Letting, following, surrendering to our sinful nature leads to death. Most of us don’t need any convincing of this truth. We’ve learned this the hard way!
But the alternative, allowing God to guide our mind, seems incredibly challenging. “That’s far too abstract, too spiritual, and only for those ‘really good’ Christians, but certainly not for me.”
Reread today’s verse. We let one or the other control our minds. The only two options! We are either led by God’s Spirit, or our sinful nature. This sinful nature may lead us in any number of directions, but the result is exactly the same: death.
God’s way, always the best, is to offer, He never forces us, to control our minds and to lead us into life and peace.
How to let Him? Ask. Simply ask Him to lead you and to control your mind. He is ready, and He wants to do this for His dearly loved people. Remember He is the perfect Father. His Love for us is flawless and unlimited.
Ask Him – and you will receive. (John 16:24) We do nothing perfectly, but we can consistently return to Him and ask. He never gets tired of us.
Father God, thank You for Your Truth. Help us to let Your Spirit lead us. We surrender control of our minds to You; we want to be led into life and peace. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
