Today’s Encouragement is, “So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
Don’t Look At –
We don’t look at the troubles, problems, challenges, threats, and evils that surround us. It is a choice, we can choose not to look at these problems. Instead, we can choose to look at and focus on the things that cannot be seen.
The world doesn’t understand this. They call it denial, ignorance, or simply not living in reality. We are not of this world. We are of God’s kingdom; we live according to His Truths, without being limited to what this world may say.
Remember there are many different ideas and beliefs prevalent in this world today. We are most aware of worldview we were raised in. Our worldview is our outlook, perspective and our beliefs. As believers in Christ, we are invited into God’s Truth, His worldview, which obviously is the best way. Jesus told us He is the Way! (John 14:6)
So we can choose to live God’s way, it’s always best! And we do not look at our current troubles, these will pass away, instead we can choose to focus on God’s promises, His Truth, and His worldview.
Father, we know that Your way is best. We have the destructive habit of thinking in the way that this world thinks, looking at our problems and feeling overwhelmed and defeated. Help us to turn away from this habit and turn to You in faith, and view this world through Your perspective, with eyes of faith.
