Today’s Encouragement is, “For God, who said, ‘Let there be light in the darkness,’ has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT.
Shine In Our Hearts –
Notice this isn’t promised for some really good people, but it’s for us, our hearts so that we can know.
Before we disqualify ourselves from God’s blessings, remember that we have been chosen, adopted, cleansed, and redeemed by faith in Jesus alone. We can never deserve God’s blessings! He gives them to us because He is good and because we have said Yes to Jesus—no other reason or qualification. God so loved that He – Gave.
Now, in addition to all these blessings, we read that God has made (already) the light of Christ shine in our hearts. And He did this for a clear reason, which is, “so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.”
In the face of Jesus-
We see the glory of God-
We can see and know this glory of God-
When we look into the face of Jesus-
We obviously don’t see Him with human eyes, so it must be ‘seen’ through eyes of faith. We ‘see’ Him when we read the Bible. We ‘know’ Him as we read about what He said, the miracles Jesus did, and the compassion that He demonstrated to the people. This is how we see His face, and how we come to know the glory of God.
Thank You, Father, for the amazing privilege You have given us to see Jesus and to know Your glory. Give us the eyes of faith for this to occur, we pray in Jesus’ Name.
