Today’s Encouragement is, “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT
For The Lord –
Remember the poor woman who put two coins in the offering. Jesus said she put in all she had, but her tiny gift was more than all the others had given. (Mark 12:43)
God looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) He doesn’t evaluate us according to human standards or expectations; He considers our motives, intentions, our hearts.
Another reference is, “If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I tell you the truth, that person will surely be rewarded.” (Mark 9:41)
A cup of water? A few coins? Jesus honored these people who gave and acted from their hearts, from obedience and out of their Love of God. These acts, seemingly insignificant, were done – For the Lord.
Of course, we can never ‘do enough’ for Him. We can never earn His salvation, forgiveness, love, or His blessings.
But we can still “work enthusiastically” for Him, honoring and loving Him and others, sharing whatever we have, little or much; doing any act of kindness for another person, with a grateful heart.
“Nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless!”
So do what He asks, accept the opportunity that He places before you. He will enable you to do what you don’t feel capable of doing.
Thank You, Father, that You know us perfectly, and You consider our hearts, our motivation, and our purpose. Help us to live effective lives, honoring and loving You in everything we do.
