Today’s Encouragement is, “For the word of God is living and active.” Hebrews 4:12a ESV
The Word of God is Living –
My hope, purpose, sincere desire, indeed my fervent prayer, is that you, readers of this devotional message, would learn, find, and experience the Living Word of God. Jesus is the Word (John 1), and He Himself is God’s message to us. And we also have the written Word to teach us.
God’s written Word, just like Jesus Himself, is living and alive! And God speaks to any who have ‘ears to hear’ through His written Word. And once we have heard His Voice, we’re never the same.
God is not limited, nor can we write a formula for a guaranteed outcome with Him; however, there are numerous truths in His Word, guiding and directing us, so that we can know some truth about Him!
Every bit as true, living, and alive today as yesterday, 2000 years ago, and 2000 years from now, God’s Word is alive; it is ‘living and active’!
The Word is “a Lamp unto my feet. “ (Psalm 119:105)
His Word “Endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)
And in John 1 we learn that Jesus Himself is the Word in human form.
This is a mystery, but it’s been proven true countless times.
As we read the written Word in faith, God Himself speaks to us. The Holy Spirit, who lives within each believer, helps us to understand His Word and to apply it to our past, present, and future needs.
Father God, please speak to us through Your Word. We know it is Your purpose and plan, and it is the very purpose of Your Word to speak deeply, clearly, and powerfully to us.
