Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Romans 12:2a NLT
The Way You Think –
Notice it doesn’t say change your behavior, or don’t do ‘this or that,’ but God transforms us – in our minds. The Amplified Bible reads, “renewal of your mind (by its new ideals and its new attitude).”
Our minds, thoughts, and beliefs direct our lives. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV)
Today’s verse encourages us to recognize that God will transform us by changing how we think! He does this in many ways (He is unlimited and ultimately creative!), and one way is by revealing the wrong thoughts and ideas we have and replacing them with the right ones. The right thoughts always agree with God’s truth, revealed in the Bible. Jesus Himself is the Truth. (John 14:6 NLT)
We are made right with God through faith in Jesus.
He will never leave us.
He has good plans for us.
We are new creations in Christ.
And many, many more.
Let God. He alone can do this.
Transform you. This is rebirth, a new life.
By changing the way you think. He does the transforming and changing; our part is to accept it, surrender to it, and embrace it.
Father, we thank You for doing for us and in us what we cannot do ourselves. You alone can transform us and change the way we think. Help us to trust You, and be willing to accept everything that You choose to do in our lives.
