To Rescue Us –
Did Jesus fail?
Ever?
Is it even possible?
Then, we are already rescued. Period.
We might not feel like we are rescued. But our feelings are not a reliable measure of the Truth. Our emotions, our hearts, are deceptive and unreliable (Jeremiah 17:9a).
But we have access to God’s Truth in our hands; the Bible reveals the Truth. Jesus Himself is the Truth (John 14:6).
Jesus never failed and never will. We can choose to place our faith in Him, even to the point of overriding our feelings and emotions. And only then can we know the Truth with confidence.
Jesus has rescued us from this evil world. God planned it. Jesus gave his life to accomplish it. It is finished (John 19:30).
We can only live in this truth by believing in Jesus, trusting Him to do what we cannot.
When we feel (key word) helpless, afraid, and desperate for rescue, from whatever this evil world throws at us, we can choose to allow God’s Truth to rule over our feelings and remind our hearts. Jesus has already given His life, just as God designed and intended, to rescue us.
Father, we thank You for already rescuing us; help us now to remain aware of, live in, and fully embrace the freedom from this evil world that Jesus has already given us.
