Today’s Encouragement is, “And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” 2 Peter 1:4 NLT
Precious Promises-
“He has (already) given us His great and precious promises.” The Word of God is full of wonderful promises that we can choose to believe, trust, and rely on. Some promises have already been fulfilled, and some are not yet – but they are all still His great and precious promises to us.
These wonderful truths of what will be are given to us because God is Good! In His Glory and His Excellence – He gives us wonderful gifts – these great and precious promises.
And notice the effect of God’s great and precious promises in our lives – they enable us to “share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” God’s promises do this.
His great and precious promises are what bring us to Him, to share in His divine nature (become like Christ), and to escape from sin, because we choose to believe Him.
And His greatest promise? Eternal life! Because of His Love and our belief. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Thank You, Father, for Your promises; help us continue in faith, trusting You, believing You, and being transformed by Your promises!
