Everything With Love

Today’s Encouragement is, “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NLT

Everything With Love –

In his closing prayer to the believers in Corinth, Paul lists several key points of advice and godly wisdom, including this all-encompassing short phrase, “and do everything with love.”

Everything? Taking out the trash? Mowing the lawn? Shopping for groceries?

This counsel extends into –
well, everything. Working, driving, sleeping, watching TV, reading, all these aspects of “everything” are included.

So, we ask, “How can we do everything in love?” One step in this direction is to recognize that this is how God acts. He does everything with Love. He is Love (1 John 4:8). He so Loved the world (John 3:16). And as a result, we Love because He first Loved us. (1 John 4:19)

With His Love for us in perspective, we can then extend His Love (our own love is pretty selfish) to others, in everything we do.

We can also be grateful. As we live in an attitude of gratitude, His Love becomes alive. We extend everything we do from a heart that honors Him to the world around us. That world may not accept us, or the Love we extend; in fact, many rejected Jesus Himself during His time on earth. But still, He did everything with Love, and so can we.

Father, we first thank You for Your perfect and unlimited Love for us. We don’t deserve it, but You have chosen to Love us because of Jesus. Help us to do everything with Love, because You first Loved us.
