Today’s Encouragement is, “Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.’ So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17 ESV
Opened The Eyes –
The enemy surrounded Elisha and his servant; they were alone in the ‘eyesight’ of this world, and doomed. But Elisha knew and saw what his servant could not yet see – God’s spiritual army.
Is it possible that this world, what we can sense with our physical bodies, is only one reality, one realm of existence? And that there also exists another, a Spiritual realm: where God, angels, and other beings exist, which we cannot see or sense with our limited human capacity. Is it possible?
Is it also possible that there are spiritual truths that are ‘unseen’ yet just as real as the earthly truths which we readily accept?
If so, then certainly the Spiritual Truth will always trump the earthly truth.
One such truth is that we are perfect in God’s sight, in the spiritual realm, because of Jesus. “For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:14 NLT
We acknowledge our obvious imperfection, and yet, in the spiritual realm, under God’s complete control, Jesus has made us perfect!
We can believe and accept this Spiritual Truth over the clear truth of our earthly imperfection.
Father, we are greatly challenged to grasp this distinction. Yet, we choose to believe what You say over what our human eyes see. Strengthen our spiritual eyesight, Lord. Strengthen our Faith.
