Today’s Encouragement is, “We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.” Colossians 1:11-12 NLT
Live In The Light –
Paul’s prayer for the church in Colossae is for us also, for all who believe in Jesus.
Was he just using flowery words to flatter them? Was this prayer intended to make himself seem loving and kind and to give the believers a false hope? Or, are these the true blessings that all believers can hope for, trust in, and be confident of?
If these are true blessings, then as we grow stronger in faith, we will also grow in endurance, patience, joy, and gratitude. God has enabled us, provided the way for us, to enjoy the inheritance of His people. By faith in Jesus, we are completely worthy of being the sons and daughters of the Living God. We live in the Light, no longer in the darkness!
We can grow by reading His word and by prayer, asking God to do the work in our lives that He chooses, remembering that His Way is always for our good and His plans for us are to bless, not to harm us. (Jeremiah 29:11)
Thank You, Father, for the blessings You have enabled us to experience.Help us to remember that we live in the Light.
