Today’s Encouragement is, “And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.” Romans 4:23-24 NLT
For Our Benefit –
Some people believe this, some choose not to; we each can choose. Every word of the Bible is written for us, for all who believe in Jesus.
This verse affirms this concept.
“It was recorded for our benefit, too.” So, too was: the miraculous birth of Jesus, His teachings, His miracles, His crucifixion, His resurrection, the acts of the Apostles, His Revelation to us through John. And, centuries before these “were recorded for our benefit,” God caused others to record: the History of His interaction with the people of Israel, the acts of the kings, the songs of David, and the words of His prophets.
All of the Bible is recorded for our benefit; to teach, remind, encourage, admonish, and help us to know God and to make Him known.
God gave us this record because He loves us. The Bible contains what we need to know, and every promise, blessing, and benefit described in it is for us. Do you choose to agree?
Thank you, Father, for the wonderful, comprehensive, and fascinating Truth which You have provided to us, and most of all, for Jesus our Lord, all – for our benefit. You are such a perfect Father.
