Today’s Encouragement is, [Jesus said,] “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10 ESV
Abundantly —
Do we? Did Jesus fail in this purpose? Did He ever fail? Did He fail to keep any of His promises?
We can confidently answer these questions — in faith, with God’s power and His perspective in mind.
Remember, His ways and thoughts are not ours; they are infinitely higher than ours. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
When we evaluate Jesus through the eyes of the world, we see only an unsuccessful Hebrew preacher killed for His radical message, whose followers claimed He was resurrected and will return someday.
But through the eyes of faith, we see the most miraculous, wonderful, and joyful message ever known.
The claims He made are eternal. The truth He spoke will never fade. His promises are eternally being fulfilled.
And because we believe in Him — not only about Him — we have life, abundantly.
Don’t see it? Don’t feel it? Wrestling with doubt?
Consider what is true from God’s perspective: We have been forgiven of every wrong we have ever done, thought, or ever will. We have been adopted into God’s family as His sons and daughters, and we will always be with Him — in this life and forever. He hears our every prayer, provides for our every need, and loves us completely. He has good plans for us, and there is so much more.
Father, thank You for the abundant life You have given us. Help us to see, through the eyes of faith, just how abundant Your blessings truly are.
