Will Know Everything

Today’s Encouragement is, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT

Will Know Everything –

We want clear, concrete, scientific answers to everything; it’s our natural human desire. “Why?” is often the first question a child learns to ask, which often exasperates us parents. We try to be patient, explaining what we can in a way the child can understand. Similarly, our Father patiently explains things to us. But in sharp contrast to us, He is always patient, truthful, wise, and loving.

And just as a child’s innocent curiosity cannot always be fully addressed, many of our own “Whys?” simply cannot be answered. God knows all things, of course, including what we are capable of knowing and understanding.

This passage helps us glimpse the immeasurable distinction between God and us. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” Isaiah 55:8 NLT

My friend, we can be content with the Truth that God has provided us in Christ and the written Word. It is surely enough, completely adequate for our limited understanding. And we can also acknowledge that God knows everything; we cannot until we are with Him. And then we “will know everything completely.”

Thank You, Father, for providing us with Your Truth. We recognize that You are more than what we can completely understand, and we are grateful for what You have revealed. Help us to wait patiently for the day when You will reveal everything!
