Today’s Encouragement is, “We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.)” Romans 8:24 NLT
Hope –
The original language of the New Testament is Greek, and the Greek word “elpizo,” translated here as “Hope,” means “to wait with joy and full confidence.”
Our modern definition doesn’t align as positively. We hope for things with uncertainty, doubts, and questions. The hope that God offers us is far greater, stronger, and even joyful!
Consider what you hope for right now; can you trust Him enough to have His type of Hope? Could you possibly add joy, confidence, and assurance to your hopes? It’s a completely different concept than our weak ‘wishful thinking.’
As believers, our hope can be based on God’s wonderful promises, His goodness, kindness, and love. We need not live in fearful, doubtful uncertainty of anything! Because we are His dearly loved people!
Father, we want to have this joyful, confident Hope in You and in all Your wonderful promises to us. Help us to move from our timid, ‘maybe-kinda-sorta’ hope into Your strong, dependable, joyful, and trusting Hope.
My Hope
