Today’s Encouragement is, “At that time, you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy. Then you will ask in my name. I’m not saying I will ask the Father on your behalf, for the Father himself loves you dearly because you love me and believe that I came from God.” John 16:23-24,26-27 NLT
Ask The Father –
Jesus clearly explained that the Father loves us dearly (let that thought sink in!). Because we love Jesus and believe that He came from God, we can ask the Father directly, in Jesus’ Name.
We don’t ask or pray to anyone except God the Father. We don’t ask Jesus to pray for us, not Mother Mary, no “Saint”, nor any earthly pastor, priest, or pope.
Because we love Jesus (and no one does anything perfectly) and we believe He is God’s Son, we are loved by God Himself! He has given us the amazing privilege of coming to Him in prayer “directly!”
We can ask others to pray with us and to remember us in prayer, but we are fully capable, by faith in Jesus, to go directly to God with our prayers.
And Jesus said, “Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” (v24)
Father God, we cannot thank You enough for the astounding privilege of bringing our prayers directly to You in Jesus’ Name. Give us faith, confidence, and patience as we trust that You love us, hear us, and will grant our request. We pray this in Jesus’ Name.
In Jesus’ Name

I have gone directly to God with my prayers this morning.
