Today’s Encouragement is, “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT
His Peace Will Guard –
Will you try something with me?
For just a moment.
Reread this verse, then pause and quietly, calmly, and patiently consider the Truth they present.
After we have done this, consider the previous verse: “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (v 6)
Once again, quiet your heart and mind and consider: right now, not yesterday or tomorrow or five minutes from now, this very second:
You are Clean! Absolute perfection, completely whole, faultless, without any stain of past, present, or future failures, wounds, fears, or doubts.
You are Free! Completely, perfectly free from man’s expectations, and your own needs or wants!
You are Secure! God is your shelter, shepherd, deliverer, guide, and your Perfect Loving Father!
Now, after calmly and quietly considering this Truth, you have tasted God’s Peace. With practice, you can begin to rest in His Peace more and more.
Notice the final phrase, “As you live in Christ Jesus.” We can live in, dwell in, reside in Jesus. This is a critical factor in God’s peace, along with prayer, thanksgiving, and faith. This is available to all of us who trust Jesus!
Finally, this Peace exceeds our understanding; we can not cause it or rest in it through our intellect. It is a spiritual experience.
Thank You, Father, for Your Perfect Peace! This Truth which truly guards and protects our hearts and our minds. Perfectly, Eternally!
