The Kingdom

Today’s Encouragement is, “One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, ‘When will the Kingdom of God come?’ Jesus replied, ‘The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.’” Luke 17:20-21 NLT

The Kingdom –

What defines a kingdom? It’s not the borders, the throne, or the subjects; it is the presence of a king! There is no kingdom without the person.

We have come to view the idea of kings and kingdoms as antiquated, primitive, and even inferior forms of government. But this system is precisely what the Bible repeatedly describes as The Kingdom of God.

Many books have been written on this subject, but what does the Bible say it is?

The people of Jesus’ day were expecting the Messiah to reestablish their nation as a physical, visible Kingdom.

But Jesus corrected this error, and also revealed a profound truth when He said, “It is not visible, it’s not physically here or there, but it is – already among you.”

Is it possible that Jesus meant that, because I am the King, the kingdom already exists?

Clearly, the Kingdom of God exists. Not physically, but spiritually, supernatural (above and beyond nature ) and eternally. Jesus is King, He is alive forever, and we who believe, accept Him as our King – we are the Kingdom of God!
Is it possible?

Teach us, Father, what it means to be in and of Your Kingdom. We recognize and submit to Our King Jesus.
