The Message Of The Cross –
Nothing else in human history is as recognized and revered, used and misused, prayed with and prayed to as the Cross. It is worn by sincere believers and the merely superstitious, and hangs in our homes and churches.
We might become callous to the power of the message of The Cross.
Jesus gave us the Cross as we see it today. He transformed this most gruesome torture device into the greatest symbol, not of death, but of hope and eternal Life!
The Cross now stands for us as the symbol of our faith, hope, and salvation because of Jesus.
We don’t like to consider this truth, but it was our cross. Our imperfections and our intentional and unintentional wrongs (sins) ensure that we deserve this most cruel death and eternal punishment! But God! He had another plan.
We are forgiven through Faith in Jesus, and He took our place on the Cross and has borne all the punishment that we deserve. All of it! There is no condemnation for those who believe (2 Corinthians 5:17). Absolutely no condemnation because of the Cross of Jesus!
Father God, how could we ever thank You enough for the gift of salvation You have given us through Jesus and the Cross? Help us to comprehend the freedom Jesus has already secured for us, and to have grateful hearts, Lord! Thank You for Jesus!
