Today’s Encouragement is, “And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans 8:2 NLT
You Belong To Him –
In our misguided desire for self-sufficiency, independence, and self-determination, we futilely fight against the One who alone can set us truly free.
To fully embrace the life of Faith in Jesus, we must lay down our lives, take up our cross, and follow Him.
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.’” Matthew 16:24
It is a decision of heart and mind, more than an action. It involves surrender of our will and acceptance of His “Your will, Father, not mine.” (Matthew 26:39)
And when we do accept, surrender, yield… we become His. His people, His family, His possession, His friends! And the wonderful, limitless promises revealed in the Bible become our reality!
As described in today’s passage, “the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.”
The power of God’s Holy Spirit sets us free!
We are Free from the power of sin!
We Belong to Jesus! He is our King, Lord, Master, brother, and our friend!!
Father God, how can we thank You enough for the wonderful privilege You have offered us, to surrender our worthless and sin-filled self-determination to Your perfect and merciful freedom from the power of sin?
