Can You See?

Today’s Encouragement is, “Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around. “Yes,” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.” Mark 8:23-25 NLT

Can You See? –

This is a unique encounter, because Jesus’ power didn’t completely restore this blind man’s sight on the first attempt! What? Didn’t Jesus have the power? The man didn’t have the faith? The sin of the blind man was too great? Jesus was tired and ‘off His game?’ We aren’t given the reason, just the facts.

Jesus even asked, “Can you see anything now?” He realized that this circumstance, this particular healing, for a reason that we are not given, would be a healing process.

The miracles Jesus did were instantaneous! Yet, not this one. Although no explicit reason is provided, we can deduce that, sometimes, miracles are not instant!

In fact, for most of us, the miracle of transformation is a process of time.
We must practice patience and faith. Waiting in faith, on the Lord to do what He will! “They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength.” (Isaiah 40:31 ESV) And He works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28)!

Thank You, Father, please give us patience in faith, to trust You and to wait patiently and faithfully while You do Your miracles in us!
