Nothing Left

Today’s Encouragement is, “About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them, ‘I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.’” Mark 8:1-3 NLT

Nothing left –

What prompted Jesus to feed this crowd of four thousand? Did He need to do another miracle to demonstrate His power? Did He see this as an opportunity to promote His good news message? Was it a lesson of some type? He didn’t break into teaching that fasting is good for the soul, or a teaching on planning and taking enough food for your journey. No, He acted out of His kindness.

The Bible clearly indicates that it was Jesus’ compassion, His kindness, and His concern for the safety, comfort, and care of the people, and perhaps nothing more! “I feel sorry for them; some of them may faint on the way home. They are hungry!” Nothing super-spiritual, flashy, or ‘saintly’ in this! Just pure kindness! Just His love for people in extremely practical circumstances.

They are hungry, so I will feed them. They have a need, so I will meet it.

This is our Jesus! He cares for our needs. He loves you!

God so Loved. (John 3:16)
His Lovingkindness is better than life. (Psalm 63:3)

Thank You, Father, for Your Love, and Jesus’s kindness and compassion for us. You are so very Good, Lord, in every way.

Jesus, Strong and Kind
