The World Around Us –
We often ask ourselves and others, “Why is there so much pain, suffering, crime, disease, sorrow, and, most recently, war, in this world today?” This verse has the answer. There is an evil one, his name is Satan. He is in control of this earthly world.
The Bible tells us we are all doomed without our Savior, Jesus Christ. And He alone will rescue us from the world around us, which is dying and will, one day, be destroyed. But, my friend, we are the Children of God, and we live in His Kingdom! By faith in Christ, we exist within, but spiritually apart from, this lost and dying world!!
This earth has a limited lifespan. It’s a hard truth. Painful. Just as our human lives have 60 or 90 years, so too this planet has limitations.
Knowing this, it is possible to look beyond the trials and pains of this earthly life. We can look with eyes of faith to the eternal future which we have been assured awaits those who believe! We can see a glimpse of paradise.
Father, help us to recognize and see with spiritual eyes of faith, and to look beyond the frailty of this earth and our earthly lives. To see the place that Jesus has prepared for us, Paradise, Eternal Life with Him, forever! No more pain or suffering! Where we will always be with You!
