Even Though

Today’s Encouragement is, “Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!” Habakkuk 3:17-18

Even Though –

Do you know of anyone who has ever, in all of recorded time, had a purely blissful life? We might get moments like this, but the reality of life is unavoidable. Jesus said. “Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT

We can choose our response!

Habakkuk said, “Yet I will rejoice!” I will be joyful! Jesus told us, “Take heart!” He introduced this truth with, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me.” John 16:33a NLT

We choose! We are not the victims of our circumstances! Our peace, our Joy is from God, not from our earthly situation.

Rejoice in the Lord.
Be joyful in God.
Take heart.
Have peace in Jesus.

My friend, the worst trouble, tragedy, sorrow, pain, even misery of this earthly life, cannot extinguish the Joy of the Lord Jesus! Truth is, we have Eternal Life! We are eternally forgiven, reborn, transformed, and adopted into God’s family. And we will be with Him in paradise – for eternity.

Thank You, Father, for confronting the reality of the troubles and suffering we endure on this earth. Thank You that by faith we can choose to live in the Joy and Peace of Jesus!
