Today’s Encouragement is, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1 NLT
Live in The Shelter –
Most all of us realize that we need God’s help. We try and try but continually fail at whatever we are striving for! We think we’re capable, strong, smart, good-looking, and we can do anything we set our minds to! Or, so says the World and popular ‘wisdom’.
But God isn’t impressed; He doesn’t change, nor does He go with the flow of people’s popular opinions.
He is Eternal and Unchanging.
Palm 91 is a beautiful and complete description of what God has for us, for all who live in His shelter. (V1)
But most of us don’t! We don’t live, stay, or remain in His shelter! We might visit His shelter occasionally, when things get really rough, but when life gets easier, we leave His shelter for our own ways.
And as a result, we flounder, trying this, reading that, believing the message of social media, science, the news, our friends, and family. We look everywhere except to the One who offers us – everything!
His shelter is not a physical place; rather, it is our spiritual condition. Living in His shelter consists of knowing, believing, trusting, and resting in Jesus. He is where we “will find rest.”
Thank You, Lord, for the Grace of Jesus! That we can turn to You at anytime, abandoning the ways of the past, the ways of this fallen world, to come to You and choose, by Your merciful grace, to live in Your shelter.
