Today’s Encouragement is, “For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” Colossians 1:13-14 NLT
Transferred –
Is it possible? Are we already now in the Kingdom of Jesus? This verse plainly says so. God has rescued us from darkness and transferred us into Jesus’ Kingdom!
There is no future tense here. This is not “one day when we all get to heaven,” nor is it “someday in the future on the day of the Lord when Jesus returns”; it is NOW!
John the Baptist preached, “Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” (Matthew 3:2). Jesus told His disciples to preach the same message (Matthew 10:6). Now, my friend, were they exaggerating? Were they speaking about the distant future, the end times when Jesus comes back to reign on this earth? Or was it “Now?”
It seems clear, if challenging to comprehend, that when Jesus came to earth, He established the Kingdom of Heaven. And we are (Now) transferred from our old earthly life into His Kingdom!
We are Now:
Children of God,
Given eternal Life,
Made clean, forgiven, reborn, and
Living in His Kingdom!
Father, we choose to accept Your Truth, even when we are uncertain of all the implications, we choose to believe You. Teach us, Lord, all that it means to live in Your Kingdom!
