To Fill Our Hearts –
Today’s Encouragement is, “For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Romans 5:5b NLT
God has given us- already, it’s accomplished!
It’s a gift – Not deserved, not earned, but God’s sovereign choice.
The gift is His Holy Spirit – the Spirit of God which dwells, lives, and remains inside of every believer. Fully God, within us!
To fill – not just a sip, nor a swallow, but in fullness, complete, with no room for anything else! We are filled!
With His Love! – Nothing less than God’s Love! It fills our hearts!
God’s gift, accomplished by the Holy Spirit.
We want to add a “But” or two, yet we cannot honestly do so, because – this is God’s word speaking truth to us.
So, is God mistaken? Is He limited in some way, perhaps by our many imperfections? Do our limitations limit Him? Clearly not!
As always, our experience is directly related to our relationship. As we desire to grow closer to Him, He readily responds by coming closer to us! Remember, because He loves us, He wants a close relationship with us far more than we desire with Him! He wants this relationship far more passionately than we can ever know! Yet, we must be willing to accept Him! To follow, listen, and surrender ourselves to Him.
Remember, this entire message is the explanation of… “How dearly God loves us.”
Father, we are awed by Your perfect and immeasurable Love for us. It is deeper, longer, wider, and higher than we can ever ask or imagine. “Thank You” seems inadequate, but we speak it anyway, trusting that You know our hearts perfectly.
