Today’s Encouragement is, “So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed, and when you are getting up. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors. Deuteronomy 11:18-21 NLT
These Words of Mine –
God’s Words are eternal, wise, perfect, life-giving, transformative, and powerful. Just look at this counsel:
Commit yourself
Tie them
Wear them
Teach them
Talk about them
Write them
So that –
You and yours may flourish
in the new land God gives us (our new life in Christ)!
These two concepts are both True: God’s word is life and Truth (Proverbs 4:20-22)
and
Jesus is The Word of God. (John 1:1-4)
Both true! Distinct yet identical.
So, what we read, the truths written in God’s word, His messages, are all True just as Jesus is the ultimate Truth, the very Word of God in a living, breathing person.
The Truth of God, His Word (both contexts) is Life!
His Word (both contexts)
Remembering, being reminded, thinking about, teaching, sharing, meditating, and essentially living inside of His Word (both) is the Way to Flourish!
Thank You, wonderful Father, for such a rich treasure, Your written Word, perfected by Your Word in flesh, Jesus! Help us to recognize the enormity of Your gifts.
