Today’s Encouragement is, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.” Luke 12:31-32 NLT
Great Happiness –
We often have the impression that we have to beg God for His blessings. As if He sits in cold, hard judgment, scowling at us unworthy worms, doling out tidbits just enough to keep us returning for another crust of bread. This is Not who He is! This is a Lie! This is what our enemy wants us to think about our God.
Instead of this dark and twisted impression… our God is Love! He is our Father! He chose us to be His family, He has adopted us into His family, His Kingdom, His Home!
This verse proclaims that He “will give you everything you need,” and even more – He is happy, greatly happy, to give us the Kingdom! Not just good gifts (Matthew 7:11), not just good plans (Jeremiah 29:11), not only mercy, grace, forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life!!! But also, the entire Kingdom of God!!!
What is this Kingdom? In a gross oversimplification, it is (all of all of these, and more): the creation, the spiritual universe, and the literal reign of Jesus when He returns.
God is happy to give us this! The Kingdom! It is a spiritual truth, mysterious and unimaginable. Yet it is Truth…
And God is happy to give this to us! Will He not meet your every need today? And next time you pray, every time, remember He is happy to see you!
Thank You, Father God, for Your kindness to us, though we deserve nothing, You graciously, lovingly, and even happily, give us – Everything!
