Today’s Encouragement is Jeremiah 27:5 NLT With my great strength and powerful arm I made the earth and all its people and every animal. I can give these things of mine to anyone I choose.
I Choose –
God is Sovereign. He is accountable to no one. He chooses. He decides.
He acts. We may often have difficulty understanding His acts, decisions, choices … and why? Because we are Not Him! We are His Creation, not the other way around!
There is encouragement in this… Friends, we are not supposed to understand Why God does or allows – anything. We can come up with an idea that may or may not be true… but, aside from the Biblical record, we usually don’t know the Why!
Because He is God, and we are Not!
This verse sheds more light on this thought… Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Friends, we can know about God, we can even have a genuine relationship with Him, and Jesus came – to clearly and finally – reveal His Perfect Love for us, but He still remains Sovereign. Our human understanding, as wise as it may be, is simply incapable of fully knowing Him. But, my friends, we will have all eternity to get to know Him!!!
Father, help Your people to accept whatever You choose to do, allow, or cause, in humble recognition that You are sovereign. Just as Jesus accepted, “Yet, not my will but Yours be done.”
