The Joy of Your Salvation

Today’s Encouragement is Psalms 51:12 (ESV) Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

The Joy of Your Salvation –

I recently screwed up. A big stupid thing.  It happened before I even thought about it, and it was over and done in just a few seconds.  I couldn’t see any way out. I turned to God in desperate prayer, “Oh God, Save me!”  I know I don’t deserve it, but I really messed up!

As Peter sank into the sea, he cried out ‘Lord, Save me!’ (Matt 14:30) No long prayer of repentance, no lengthy confession, just a desperate cry of a desperate soul.

And so was my cry!  My mind raced with the possibilities of the negative consequences of my stupidity… and I responded to those fears with a desperate… “Lord, Save!”

A few moments later I ‘accidentally’ came face to face with the one person who could resolve my error, and they easily did so; my crisis was erased.  Without any drama or fanfare… God saved!

Friends, He is always willing, always available, always forgiving, and always prepared to Save us!  Even from our own stupidity!

And my stupid screw-up, which could have been a huge problem or trial for me, became nothing. And I knew the Joy of His Salvation once again!

Thank You Father for Your Salvation, offered to Your chosen people again and again, because of Your Infinite Love and Patience and Grace. You are Unlimited!

[This song came to mind and carries the line “If I’d never had a problem, how would I know that God could solve them, how would I know what faith in His Word could do.”]
