Bearing with One Another

Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 4:1-2 ESV I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.

Bearing with One Another-

We are urged (not required, not commanded) to walk, to live this life in a worthy manner… a life worthy of an adopted son or daughter of The Father.

And how?  By bearing with each other in Love, with humility, gentleness, and patience.

Notice the terminology… bearing with’. It might as well have said, “put up with”, “tolerate”, or “endure“ others.

Why this attitude toward others? Is it possible that it is because we are all just – so durn annoying?!?! Each of us is so wrapped up in our own lives, problems, needs, and issues, that we are to be tolerated by others!

Ever known a person who only talks about themselves? Or perhaps one who never reveals anything about themselves but reveals a lot about other people? The variety is endless, the common thread, the undeniable reality is… you and I and all of us are annoying!  At least annoying enough that we must be ‘put up with’ by others!

Let’s be honest about this my friends… we love those who put up with us- the people who bear with us… in Love!

John 13:34 (ESV) A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

Father Give us the patience, the Love which can only come from You, to bear with others… and truly Love them.  Just like You bear with us and Love us!

Love Each Other
