Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 5:20 ESV Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Always and for Everything –
My friends, God knows exactly how difficult this life can be. He is with us every single moment, he knows our hearts, and He cares about us!
Hear it again, “Give thanks to God, for everything, always.”
This is an attitude of our hearts, of Faith and Trust. When troubles surround us, or when blessings come… Give thanks to Him!
Thank God for the pain I’m feeling? Yes! Thank Him that I’ve lost my job? Yes! Thank God that I’m broke? Yes! Thank God that I have cancer. Yes! Thank Him that my son or daughter has turned away from Him and from me? Yes!
God’s Word is Truth. Friend, we all will have lots of trouble in this life. Some much more than others. Yet the response of those who Trust God is… thankfulness.
A moment’s thought on the Why. When we express thanks to God always for everything – we are acknowledging that He is in complete control of our lives… that He sees and knows our condition… that we trust Him to work all things together for our good (Rom 8:28)… that we recognize that He brings us through every trial of life… and that He is with us always.
Try it. Thank Him now for your blessings and your troubles. It’s easy to thank God for the blessings of life. It is not easy to thank Him for the struggles.
But it is Godly Wisdom… to “Give thanks always and for everything.”
Father, we need Your help to change our attitude to a thankful, grateful one.
