Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 5:3 NLT “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Realize their need –
Ever met anyone who did not realize their need? Their need for friendship, help from others, need for relationships… so many boastfully proclaim, “I don’t need anybody!”
Well, let’s see how that works out for ya!
Friends, we need others. And most importantly, we need a Savior! We cannot save ourselves; we can never be good enough to earn God’s acceptance. This isn’t due to our lack of trying… many folks have done wonderful things in this life, like Mother Teresa or Billy Graham… but even these wonderful people… realized their need…
I was in a bad car accident once. It taught me that I need help from others from time to time. Very humbling. And in the same way, when we struggle with sin in this life, we must realize our need… our need for help, we cannot do this alone! We need His help!
So now, I confess that I am utterly Desperate for God’s Grace, mercy, and salvation. I cannot be good enough, I cannot do everything right, and I cannot live the Christian Life consistently! I realize my need!!! For Jesus!!! To Save me!
And Jesus said, God blesses people like you and me, who realize that they need Him!
Lord, we do realize how much we need You to save us, cleanse us, and recreate us! Help us to always realize our desperate need for You!
