Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 4:17 ESV For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.
Beyond all Comparison-
There are many examples in the Bible, of things (concepts, ideas, experiences) that we humans, just aren’t capable of understanding.
Such as:
God’s ways and His thoughts – Isaiah 55:8-9
The peace of God Philippians 4:7
Visions Daniel 8:27
What God has prepared for those who love Him 1 Corinthians 2:9
And the Love of Christ Ephesians 3:19
How often do we say, “I just don’t understand”, or “I don’t get it” when reading scripture. Our minds, as wonderful as they are; able to imagine, create, retain, compose, and discern… just cannot measure up to these spiritual dimensions.
Our logical processes are inadequate to evaluate God’s actions, thoughts, rewards, revelations, or His Being.
For example, I’ve been extremely blessed to live with my wife for almost 50 years. I know and understand, a lot about her, and I love her… but she still surprises me occasionally, I know her, but it’s impossible, (as most people agree) to know and understand another person ‘completely’. So, we cannot understand another person.
We don’t even understand ourselves! How could we understand fully, God Himself?
Today’s verse is perspective, that every trial, and tragedy in this life… prepares for us, unimaginable glory. Glory ‘beyond all comparison’ to anything we know or understand. God’s way; His plan.
Father, help us to accept from You, the biblical and spiritual Truths which we cannot fully understand. By Faith – not by sight. By Faith – not by our limited human understanding.
