Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 3:19a NLT For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.
The wisdom of this world –
[I admit – this thought is hypocritical. I am attacking my own work.]
I love books, bookstores, bookmarks, bookcases, libraries… there’s something that intrigues and calls to me in these… I also love to write, as you know… and yet… I acknowledge, I still believe… that, “The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God”
This is the reason, I almost exclusively, read the Bible, and write, exclusively, about what I believe God is revealing to me, perhaps to us both, from His Word.
There are other approaches of course, which one could take. But a short easy read of a thought-provoking, biblical truth, will help us to begin our day encouraged, and with a God-centered focus. Not me-centered, not the latest fad, fashion, or fame. But God.
Many wiser people have written many more words, and have revealed or discovered many more depths from the book of God. Some are living today.
But the vast majority of what is written, or said, or displayed isn’t Truth! The majority of information we receive from other sources, TV, social media, news, etc. Just Is Not Truth! Some of it may be wise, but it is only man’s wisdom! And “it is foolishness to God.”
In summary, I believe – Jesus is the Truth. And the Bible contains the entire record of His teachings. No other book can claim content which has the power to transform lives for eternity.
Which leads to this critical question. Why. Read. Anything. Else?
Father Help us to seek You through Your written word, with Your Holy Spirit guiding us, dropping the guidance (wisdom) of man, and depending solely upon You.
