Today’s Encouragement is Romans 6:4 NLT ”For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”
Live new lives –
Our identification with Jesus is a natural result of our acceptance of His Lordship of our lives. We believe in Him, and He saves us. We have become sons and daughters of the Living God, adopted with full rights and privileges as His very own.
And this identification with Him is further extended to cleanse us from all sin, shame, remorse, and regret… because we are now identified with Jesus… we have ‘put on Christ’ (Rom 13:14) and so we no longer live – but Christ lives in us (Gal 2:20)
Now, my friends, we – Live – New – Lives! No longer defined by our past, our accomplishments or failures, our family history, education, nationality, or any other description… we are reborn into Jesus! We are new creations (2 Cor 5:17)!
What will we do with this New Life we’ve been given? We need not strive for great accomplishment, though some may sense God’s call to do so, because God has already accomplished infinitely more through us, in this transformation, than we could ever achieve ourselves!
Friends we are now, already, today… living new lives!
Father God, help your people to rejoice in the new life we have been given, for it is cause for great joy! There is no greater gift!
