There we knelt

Today’s Encouragement is Acts 21:5b NLT “The entire congregation, including women and children, left the city and came down to the shore with us. There we knelt, prayed”

There we knelt –

Paul was leaving Tyre by ship, after visiting and preaching there for a week. This is his departure from that city.

The entire congregation…

Including women and children…

Left the city…

Came to the shore…

Knelt…

And prayed.

What a scene! What a moment for Paul!  He was there only one week, and yet the people were so impacted by his teaching!

The entire Church, kneeling in the sand, praying for Paul, and possibly also for his journey, the preaching he would do, maybe even their own needs as a church.  But All… Kneeling… in Prayer!

Is it possible friends that we too might need to kneel in prayer sometimes?  It’s an act of humility, kneeling before God… and our joints don’t want to even think about it, or getting up afterwards… But… is it possible that this external, outward symbol might have an impact, not on the power of our prayer… but on the character, attitude, or mindset of the person who is praying…?

Father God, help us to bow before You, acknowledging Your greatness… kneeling, bowing our heads and hearts… before You, as we come to You in prayer!

On my knees
