Today’s Encouragement is John 13:7 NLT Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”
But someday –
We’ve experienced this ourselves, but sometimes it’s hard to remember the concept… we don’t understand what is happening!
This is why we must live by Faith! we don’t know everything! We must walk in faith, not only by what we see or understand… God is Spirit, we are His Spiritual children… John 3:8 (NLT) “The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”
But in our earthly minds we want a clear picture of what the plan is! ‘What are the next steps?’ ‘Where exactly is this leading us!’ ‘Why God?’… We want to know; we want control!
My friends, God is in Control! We, as sheep, as children, as followers, as disciples (students), are following Him, His Will, His plans, His ways! We only see our next steps!
Consider Psalm 119:105 NLT “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” The lamp of Jesus’ day wasn’t a flashlight! It illuminated only a small circle and that dimly! Only enough light for the next few steps! The rest of the pathway is only visible after – we take the step of faith!
“But someday you will”! Someday we will understand! His promise! Till then, we walk by Faith that He is in control!
God asks us to trust Him, rely on Him, depend on Him… this is the essence of surrender. As we do so… He leads, we follow. And someday we will understand!
