Today’s Encouragement is Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
There is a season-
Have you recognized that we live in seasons of time? Childhood, youth, adulthood, and maturity (being gentle with us older folks!) and spiritually as well:
There are low times and high points; valleys and mountains.
Sometimes we’re up and sometimes down.
Strong or weak, hopeful or despairing.
“For everything there is a season.” And for every season there is a beginning, a duration, and an end! Things change, relationships begin and end, and in this same way, even our faith has its ups and downs, highs and lows, strengths, and weaknesses.
Our Bible is full of Truth, and records of the varied seasons of life for the men and women of our spiritual ancestry, like David, Joseph, Ruth, Peter, and Paul… This record is provided to strengthen our faith – especially during those valleys.
And when we are strong in our faith, we can lift up those around who are struggling. When we have encouragement to share… we strengthen others by doing so. When we are discouraged, we can seek encouragement from the Bible records, from brothers and sisters in faith, and from God directly! Just remember – this season will end; we only need to trust and wait on Him.
He’s still God! His presence and His power is not dependent upon our feelings, attitudes, nor even our faith!
Father God, please strengthen us for the valleys of our lives, and help us remember the mountains and that You are Present, still the only All-powerful God whatever the season!
God on the mountain
