Today’s Encouragement is Philippians 4:11 NLT “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.”
How to be content –
Notice that Paul writes, “I have learned…”. This contentment then, isn’t really a natural outlook, or an attitude, nor the modern term ‘worldview’… rather it is a learned trait, a skill, a developed perspective of a healthy mind and spirit.
Contentment is a wonderful blessing! To be at peace with who you are, what you have, who you are around, with every circumstance about you… how wonderful would that be?
This Contentment isn’t giddy optimism, blinded to the needs around us, or to our own need to change, adapt, and improve. It isn’t complacency, lazily refusing to better ourselves or our situation. This is Personal Peace. Accepting everyone and everything as it is… recognizing God is in full control, and that He provides for our every need.
Even in our most dire circumstances, in pain, sorrow, illness, loneliness… even then… Contentment can be ours!
Read the gracious wisdom of Philippians 4:4-13 (especially 6-7) and you will clearly see the process of – Learning How to be Content!
Thank You Father God, that You desire Your children to live in Peace, and to be Content with the blessings You have granted us, recognizing that You know exactly what we need, and that You are our Source!
It is well
