Today’s Encouragement is Luke 20:26 NLT So they failed to trap him by what he said in front of the people. Instead, they were amazed by his answer, and they became silent.
Amazed by his answer –
The entire chapter of Luke 20 describes the desperate attempts of the religious leaders to trap Jesus in His words. They failed!
Even in their brilliant plotting and obsessive diligence, they failed! Jesus always pointed out their errors and misunderstandings in their questions and accusations. So much so that they weren’t just silenced by His answer… they were Amazed!
We know that a few of these religious leaders began to trust Him, but most chose to protect their own power, to not risk the loss of their ‘control’, to attack this man teaching love, kindness, and compassion, healing all who came to Him, and claiming to be God’s Son…
Yet even they, these blinded, self-righteous, murderous people… were still… Amazed!
Amazed is the right response to Jesus. He is Amazing! His Love, His Mercy, His Grace, His Presence, His Power… everything about Him truly is Astounding! He is truly Amazing!
Father God, may we always recognize Who You are, Who Jesus is, and may we also stay amazed by You!
