Today’s Encouragement is Luke 12:35 NLT “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning,”
Keep your lamps burning-
Jesus taught us eternal truths, using common examples and parables as tools – so that we might understand. Not everyone did or does understand what He taught, but for those who have the ears to hear and eyes to see, His truths were and are still, very clear.
Luke 12:37a “The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded.”
This counsel to, ‘Be Ready!’ follows His teachings on these truths:
seek God’s Kingdom,
do not be afraid,
give to the needy,
provide treasures for yourself in Heaven.
Following these messages, He then advises us… Be Ready!
How do we keep our lamps burning? Through worship, through relationship with Him, through bible study, through honest spiritual conversations with other believers, listening to Biblical teaching that inspires your faith… there are many ways to keep the spiritual fire within stoked. But friends, it is not automatic; it is a decision, a choice we make… to continue to believe, to keep on believing, trusting in Him and His mercy and His immeasurable love for us. Keep your lamp burning strong in faith. And remember to ask Him for His perfect help with this or any other spiritual need, because He loves you…
Father God, help us to be ready, to be doing what You have taught us, to be faithful, so that whenever You call upon us for service, and finally, when Jesus returns, we are ready, dressed for service with our lamps burning!
