With Compassion

Today’s Encouragement is Luke 7:13 NLT When the Lord saw her, his heart overflowed with compassion. “Don’t cry!” he said.

With compassion-

There’s something beautiful about this word – Compassion…

Here, it is coming from Jesus’ heart… to this grieving woman…

In numerous other passages, the Compassion of Jesus is clearly displayed. Matthew 9:36 NLT When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. And Matthew 14:14 NLT Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Often Jesus was surrounded by people needing Him, a healing touch, a word of hope, food for their soul… but He never was overwhelmed by this, nor exasperated by the needy crowd.

No, instead, He was repeatedly… Moved to Compassion!

What a beautiful and clear description of the perfect Heart of Jesus.  He was, still is Compassionate!

Friends when we are pleading on our knees, whether in brokenness, sorrow, or desperation… Jesus hears, He sees… and He has Compassion for you and me!

Thank You Jesus for the beautiful compassion You have for us! Help us Lord to trust in, and rest in… Your Kindness, Compassion, and Grace.

The Lord is Gracious and Compassionate
