Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT) “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Far beyond –
My father reminded me the other day, just before his 103rd birthday, of a theology professor who told him, about 65 years ago (yes, he is still that sharp!), “Stop thinking that you can understand God, stop trying to understand and just believe. You can’t even understand yourself-much less God!”
Through believing, our faith in Jesus, we can “know God” and become His own, even when we do not fully Understand Him – because we just aren’t capable of fully understanding God. See today’s passage – His “ways are Far Beyond anything YOU COULD IMAGINE!”
Jesus clearly revealed Gods nature to us, John 10:30 NLT “The Father and I are one.” And from John 14:9 NLT “…Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!…” So we can know ABOUT God through Jesus, we can learn ABOUT God from studying the Bible, we can ‘know enough about God to ‘accept Christ Jesus as our Lord’…. But God’s Thoughts, His Ways, His reasoning, His Mind… these are beyond us, Far Beyond anything we could even imagine!
And this is why we are called to BELIEVE… to live by Faith, to place our FAITH in Jesus… Because we are not intended, not created to, not capable of – understanding God.
