Today’s Encouragement is Mark 12:30-31 NLT ‘And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ [31] The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
And you must –
So how do we do what Jesus commanded? Remember God can – but I can not! – Without You we can do nothing (John 15:5); but we can do all things through Christ who gives us Strength (Phil 4:13).
Love comes from God, and fills us, and overflows to others. 1 Thessalonians 3:12 NLT “And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.”
It starts with the Source of Love, our Father God, and flows from Him, through us and then – back to Him and then – flows to others who also love Him and then flows – to others. This is what Jesus said we Must do; there is no greater commandment! Love!
So, what is it that are you now striving to do, to overcome, or to remove from your life, to stop doing? Is it possible that Love, as Jesus commanded – we “Must!” is far more important?
Father God, help us, selfish creatures that we are, to look to You alone for the Love we need. To seek You so sincerely that Your Love fills us, and overflows back to You and then to this lost world around us.
