Today’s Encouragement is 2 Thessalonians 2:13 NLT As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation-a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.
Belief in the truth –
It’s fascinating to consider who we are in Christ – and here we see another expression of our true identity.
We are:
– Loved by the Lord Jesus!
– Chosen by God the Father to experience salvation!
– Brought to salvation by the Holy Spirit who makes us holy!
– all through our belief in the truth!
Each of these truths are incredibly rich in meaning and power and deserve to be studied and understood in depth… but here’s just a moment’s thought today…
We are Loved by Jesus… known by Him, watched over, provided for, He loves us perfectly! Our own, our best concept of Love for another… comes close to, but still far from – His perfect Love.
We are chosen by God – what an identity! We are His chosen adopted children! Individually selected, by His Grace, not by our merits… We are His selected ones!
The Spirit lives within us to bring us to holy living, by the Grace and forgiveness of our God, which we could never earn…
All this – through our belief in the truth –
This song beautifully describes our beliefs… sing with it, make this your prayer today… participate in this proclamation of Faith… and so come to more fully recognize – who you are in Christ!
