Today’s Encouragement is John 15:5 NLT “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
Produce much fruit –
Jesus told us that He is the vine, and that we are branches on His vine. Only by our contact with Him, through our vital connection with Him, only by recognizing our relationship with Him, do we ever have ‘fruit’, or any real success, or have any lasting value! The analogy goes on to be even more critical, because without the Vine, our life-giving connection to Him, we can do Nothing!
Nothing? Nothing of any real value, nothing that lasts, nothing that truly matters.
But by remaining IN Him, attached to His Vine, then my friends, we will bear much fruit.
Lord Draw us nearer, help us remain in You. Make us more fully aware of this life-giving and life-sustaining relationship with You. So that we can produce the fruit of Your love for this lost and dying world.
